Magic On Main - An Intimate Parlor Experience
Join Magician Sean Doolan for Magic on Main – An Intimate Parlor Experience, a magic show in his private library located in a historic building on Main Street in Windham, New York. Sean will weave his personal story of transitioning from trial lawyer to magician in interactive, mind-blowing magical routines. In this parlor show, Sean will demonstrate the limitations of the human mind through techniques he learned as a student of the ancient art of sleight of hand, and a lifetime as a trial lawyer.
Current show times are listed in the calendar below. If the listed dates or times are not good for you, please reach out to us to request a different date for your group. This show would be perfect for corporate events, birthday parties, wedding groups, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and special occasions.
Seating for 2 to 10 people. However, if your group is greater than 10, we have partnerships with other Main Street businesses where we can perform for your group. The show is approximately 60 minutes. Magic On Main is appropriate for ages 10 and up. There will be no walk-ins for the show.
Ages 6 to 9 - If you have a group of at least 6 people, we may be able to do a private show that includes your younger children.
Ticket prices: $30 a person, 7 days a week.
Discounted Tickets: We do not want the ticket price to deter you from coming to a show if you are on a fixed budget. Based on availability, we may be able to offer a discount on non-holiday weekdays. Please ask!
Refunds/Late arrivals: We do not offer refunds. If you cannot make the show, please contact us in advance to reschedule. If you show up late, you may not be granted entry. If you know you're running late, please call or text us as soon as possible at 518.734.4218 or 518.755.3433 to let us know. If we can wait for you, we will. If we can't, we will ask you to reschedule. If you do not call ahead of time, you will not be able to reschedule. As with any theater, please arrive 10 minutes early so you can be seated, use the restroom, etc, so the show can start on time. Once the show starts, we will not seat late comers.

What is Parlor Magic?
Some magic historians have called parlor magic “the chamber music of magic”. In the 18th and 19th century long, before the advent of television, it was customary in high society to host gatherings or parlor parties and invite several artists or ask one of the guests to entertain the group.
Parlor magic first surfaced in France where such a magician was called a magician de salon. In Victorian England it was called the drawing room entertainer or parlor conjurer. In Italy, prestigiatore da Salotto and in Germany, a Salonzauberer. The peak of this style of magic was the late 1800s and the first few decades of the 1900s.
There are certain distinct features that characterize a parlor magic show. It is for a small audience in an intimate setting. It features a standing performer without assistance or obvious apparatus, engaging storytelling and exquisite sleight of hand.
